X PRACTICE1 Prelim

This Prelim was to help us with getting used to using Final Cut Pro X.  We could be as creative as we wanted as it was just to help us get to grips with FCPX.  We explored the use of titles, sound and editing.  For the titles, we typed up what we wanted to say and copied and pasted it to put over the top in red so it appears to have a shadow.  We also downloaded the font from the internet.  For sound, we found a useful sound, both for the background and the explosion, on youtube and converted it to an mp3.  We also did a voiceover at the end.  For the editing, we attempted to create a match-on-action cut with the door opening as well as the conversation.  We also found a green screen video of an explosion on youtube, converted it to an mp4 and imported that into FCPX.  We transformed it until it was where we wanted it to be and then added the keyer effect.

MY AIM


My aim for this blog is to record everything I do in Media to show my growth in knowledge of the subject.  I achieved an A on my GCSE in Media so I have a good understanding.  One of our close study product topics was on film so we researched the films I, Daniel Blake and Dr Strange.  I've used Final Cut Pro X to edit my own vlog and also directed it.

WHY I CHOSE MEDIA

I chose Media because I am fascinated by it and enjoy learning about different theories etc.  I want to go to university specialising in Media and then go into a career involving Media.

WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO

I'm really looking forward to directing, producing and editing my own product.  I'm also excited to learn about new theorists and their theories as I find them very interesting and I like to see if I can spot them when outside of school.

WHAT I'M NERVOUS ABOUT

I feel least confident in my skills of research but I'm prepared to change that this year.  I'm also nervous about research.
